Littleport plan to grow and prosper

After hundreds of comments from the residents, numerous public events and detailed analysis of concepts a new plan for Littleport to lead its growth in the next 20 years has been approved.

The Littleport Masterplan outlines how the town can change, develop and grow to become a thriving market town for the future.

In the months and years ahead East Cambridgeshire District Council will move forward with ideas to enhance the natural landscape, plan growth areas and promote the town centre as well as expand community facilities.

There is no such thing as a five second rule

Food Safety Week starts today (Monday 6 June) and this year it aims to make sure people don't put themselves at risk of food poisoning because of food safety myths.

Across the country, people were asked whether they thought a range of statements about food safety were true or false – from the truth about ‘use by’ dates to the infamous ‘five second rule’ for food dropped on the floor.

Language cafe to make English fun

A new club is starting next week to help anyone living in East Cambridgeshire to improve their English in a social environment and an informal way.

The English Language Caf will be meeting at The Hub caf at the Lighthouse Centre in Ely on Tuesdays at 10.30am.

Businesses club together to support Magpas

The e-space business centre in Littleport went green for the day on Friday 27th May raising money in support of the regions’ volunteer paramedics, Magpas.

Staff and tenants were encouraged to participate by wearing green items and donating 1 in return for stickers and green sweets – together they raised 62.10.

Husband and wife team, Paul and Tessa have 15 years catering experience and have already created a regular customer base among the 22 companies and 110 employees at the centre.
