Soham’s young and old help with cemetery clean up

Last weekend, over 40 volunteers of all ages helped to clean up the cemetery in Soham – the home to the graves for hundreds of local residents.

The work had been coordinated by Councillor Julie Webb Vice Chair Soham Town Council and her husband Tim Webb and supported by organisations including the Viva Youth Group and East Cambridgeshire District Council who supplied rubbish bags, gloves and high visibility jackets.

The volunteers tidied graves, removing climbing ivy from gravestones as well as cleaning and de-webbing the public toilet.
