Free open day at Paradise Pools

Paradise Pools in Ely is hosting a free day of activity on Saturday 15 September to celebrate the completion of a 50,000 refurbishment of the centre and Everyone Active taking over the management of the facility.

The open day will include free activities from 12pm – 5pm in both the main pool and the teaching pool including free family fun swimming, free swimming lesson tasters, the opportunity to swim in pink water and a whole range of competitions, prizes and special offers available.

Over 500 people make their cinema choice

Hundreds of people have had their say about where they would like a new cinema development in Ely to go.

With the private sector wanting to develop a permanent cinema in Ely and 89 per cent of the public supporting the idea, the District Council had asked local residents for their opinions on where development should go.

The public consultation, outlined four sites for development which included:

* Option 1 – Land at junction of Downham Road/A10.
