Waste and recycling bid is now in

With overwhelming support from residents for East Cambridgeshire District Council to increase its recycling performance as well as retain weekly waste collections, a final detailed bid for 5million to fund a new recycling service has been submitted to Government.

The bid, to make it easier to recycle more of the district’s waste while keeping weekly rubbish collections, would see the current brown sack and black box collection system replaced with:

With London 2012 creating new heroes out of our Olympian and Paralympian athletes, this summer hundreds of school children took to playing fields across East Cambridgeshire to emulate their new sporting icons.

The Summer Daze programme throughout July and August was the biggest ever planned in the district with over 450 children and young people taking part in eight locations.
