Willow trees set for a prune

Wed, 01/09/2013

A row of Willow trees along the riverside at Lavenders Green in Ely are to be pruned later this month to preserve them for the future.

The work is part of a crown reduction regime which first began in 2003 to reduce the weight and stress within each tree by pruning of side and upper branches.

The overall tree crown reduction will again be approximately 40 per cent to manage the long, weighty branches over the public path and open space, and over the riverside moorings.
