Details of Parish of Ely – North Ward By-Election Announced

Information regarding the election of a parish councillor for the Ely North Ward has been released today.
Polling stations for eligible voters will be open from 7.00am until 10pm to vote for a new parish councillor on the 6th October 2016.
Persons nominated for the role are Edward Bengt Carlsson Browne (Labour Party), Mark Cooney (Spotted in Ely), Richard Gareth Llewelyn Morgan (no description) and John Yates (Independent).
Postal votes for the election will be sent out on Thursday 22nd September to those who have registered.

EU Referendum results for East Cambs

On Thursday 23rd June 2016, voters in East Cambridgeshire, and throughout Britain, took to the polls to vote whether to remain or leave the European Union.

Polling stations nationwide opened at 7am and closed at 10pm.

The verification/ count venue for East Cambridgeshire was Ross Peers Sports Centre, Soham.

Verification of all 69 of East Cambridgeshire’s boxes (including one for postal votes) was completed at 18:14 on Friday 24th June, and the turnout was announced as 77.07%. Counting began straight afterwards.

East Cambridgeshire District Council encourages voters to register ahead of PCC elections in May

East Cambridgeshire District Council is urging local people to register their vote for the upcoming Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections in line with the launch of a major national advertising campaign.

On Thursday 5 May, voters will go to the polls to elect their Police and Crime Commissioner, but must first register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
