Have you ever thought about running for office? Do you think you could help improve your local community and parish? Do you want to get involved in how the district is run?
If so nominations are still open for anyone who wants to stand for election on the 3rd May to become a District and/or a Parish Councillor in East Cambridgeshire.
All 39 seats for the District Council are up for election with a deadline of noon on the 4th April for nominations to be submitted.
John Hill, Chief Executive and Returning Officer at East Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “Becoming a District Councillor can be a demanding but very rewarding role. You have the opportunity to represent your community and parish to influence some of the critical decisions which need to be made on East Cambridgeshire’s future.
“Electoral Services staff will be available to receive and validate nomination papers and necessary documentation during normal office hours at the Council offices by no later than noon on Wednesday, 4th April. It would be advisable for anyone submitting nomination papers to ring Electoral Services on 01353 665555 to arrange a convenient time to avoid delays in receiving and validating papers.”
Nomination papers and associated documentation are currently available from the Council Offices or can be downloaded from ECDC’s website. A guidance note outlining the nomination paper is also available on-line.
