Tackling the issues of homelessness

With homelessness becoming an increasing issue in East Cambridgeshire, the District Council is looking to put in place a series of measures to better meet the needs of its residents.

At a meeting of the Development and Transport committee, Councillors heard the factors which continue to create pressure in the housing system. These include: families on benefits finding it hard to find private sector housing to the weak house building economy as well as the overheating rental market in the region or people fleeing domestic violence.
