No more last orders for valued community pubs

Fri, 10/18/2013

A motion asking the Government to do more to protect public houses from extinction was approved by members at East Cambridgeshire District Council last night (Thursday 17 October).
The motion put forward by Cllrs James Palmer and Charles Roberts was in support of the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) view that the current planning system fails to give sufficient protection to valued community pubs.

CAMRA’s campaign has highlighted how they have seen the conversion of pubs across the country without planning permission.
