Oliver Cromwell’s House in Ely – the former home of the Lord Protector – is being put forward for Visit England’s ‘Hidden Gem’ accolade.
Having again passed the annual Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme Assessment set by the tourist organisation, the House’s high score means it has been nominated for the special accolade.
This new award from Visit England aims to acknowledge smaller attractions and raise their profile. There will be a further assessment of the House in the spring and the venue will find out if it has won in the summer.
