Recycling rates in East Cambs keep getting better

Residents in East Cambridgeshire are continuing to help the district to climb the league tables after another stellar year of recycling.

The Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs has announced the recycling performance for English councils during 2014/15 and for the second year running East Cambridgeshire was the third most improved area with an increase of 11.2% from 2013/14.

Ground breaking Community Land Trusts are making progress

Community Land Trusts (CLTs) in East Cambridgeshire are continuing to move forward bringing together developers, landowners and residents for the good of a town and village.
 
With the recent ground breaking ceremony taking place for the Stretham and Wilburton CLT – where 50 homes, 15 of which will be affordable, are being built along with a doctor’s surgery, small business units and open space – other schemes are also progressing well.

Decisions from East Cambridgeshire Planning Committee August 2014

Following the recent meeting of the Planning Committee at East Cambridgeshire District Council, the following decisions were made:

1. Outline application for up to 100 residential units with all matters reserved
except for means of access at land south of 18 Wilburton Road, Haddenham. The applicant is: Gladman Developments Ltd

 Decision: Refused

2. Outline application for up to 128 residential dwellings with all matters reserved apart from means for access at land north of Field End, Witchford. The applicant is: Gladman Developments Ltd
