New District Leisure Centre given the green light

Members of East Cambridgeshire District Council have agreed to build the proposed new District Leisure Centre at Downham Road, subject to receipt of £1.5m grant funding from Sport England.

At Full Council on Tuesday 28th June, Councillors fully supported the proposals and costs put forward by Mace, project managers employed by the District Council to progress the scheme.  They agreed the preferred contractors to build the new centre are Pellikaan. The leisure centre will comprise:

•      An eight lane 25m Pool

East Cambs agree plan for Lancaster Way coach parking

East Cambridgeshire District Council is pleased to announce that it has approved a plan to secure coach parking for Ely.
At the Commercial Services committee meeting on Wednesday 22nd June 2016, Councillors approved the recommendation to enter into a license to secure coach parking at Lancaster Way Business Park.
