EU Referendum results for East Cambs

On Thursday 23rd June 2016, voters in East Cambridgeshire, and throughout Britain, took to the polls to vote whether to remain or leave the European Union.

Polling stations nationwide opened at 7am and closed at 10pm.

The verification/ count venue for East Cambridgeshire was Ross Peers Sports Centre, Soham.

Verification of all 69 of East Cambridgeshire’s boxes (including one for postal votes) was completed at 18:14 on Friday 24th June, and the turnout was announced as 77.07%. Counting began straight afterwards.

Setting the future for growth in East Cambridgeshire

A blueprint for the future growth of East Cambridgeshire up to 2031 is set to go out to consultation next week for residents, businesses and others to have their say.

The Local Plan looks at how much, where and when development should take place. It seeks to ensure development in the district is ‘sustainable’ by meeting the needs of the area.

New walks will put a spring in your step

With romance in the air, visitors to East Cambridgeshire can set off for adventures and explore the beauty of the Fens with a series of walks now available at the Tourist Information Centre in Ely.

These new leaflets are the culmination of a three year European funded project to improve local walks and rides both for local people and visitors.
