Ely scoops double award win for its Parks and Green Spaces

The city is celebrating a double award win for its parks and green spaces thanks to the Keep Britain Tidy Green Flag Awards Scheme.

Ely Country Park and Jubilee Gardens are among 1,686 parks and green spaces that have received a prestigious Green Flag Award – the mark of a quality park or green space.

A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.

Reach Festival – 24th September 2016

Date:  Saturday, 24 September 2016 – 10:30am – 4:30pm Reach Festival Reach Festival is a brand new event, held this year on Saturday the 24th of September, starting at 10.30am and finishing at 4.30pm. The event will showcase local handmade crafts and produce. In addition there will be displays of crafts being undertaken including potting, spinning, lace making and flint knapping (the picture to the right is of Will Lord who will be coming along). The stalls, craft displays, stage, and tea tent will all be on Fair Green – please see our Draft Plan. Etheldreda Craft and Food Fair – 4th June 2016

Date:  Saturday, 4 June 2016 – 10:00am – 5:00pm Etheldreda Craft and Food Fair An annual craft and food fair on Palace Green in front of Ely Cathedral showcasing local gifts and produce.  A fun day out for all the family – try your luck on the coconut shy, raffle or tombola after a bacon buttie and coffee or champagne and strawberries.  Organised by the parents of the boy choristers of Ely Cathedral for the Ely Cathedral Choir Tour Fund.
