A drive to improve the Housing Service in East Cambridgeshire has seen an increase in the number of people saved from homelessness and a dramatic fall in the number of families being placed in Bed & Breakfasts.

The team, which was part of a review last year to reduce the amount of money spent on temporary accommodation, have taken a proactive, preventive approach to helping residents in the district who are in trouble.

With more and more people finding themselves in financial difficulties and worrying about keeping a roof over their head, East Cambridgeshire District Council has reviewed its Housing Service to better meet the needs of its residents.
