Play Areas getting better across the whole District

As the sun starts to shine and with summer just round the corner, children and young people across the District are finding new things to do at their local play areas

Parish Councils across East Cambridgeshire have worked with local communities and the District Council to create areas that encourage play for all ages after receiving grants from the Big Lottery Fund, East Cambridgeshire District Council and other sources.

Ely's Bank Holiday Market is fast becoming the place to spend your time and money.

On Monday 31 May, the Ely Bank Holiday Market will again bring the best mix of traders from the Farmers' Market with stalls from the General and Craft & Collectables Markets and a few extra new stalls to add to the variety of goods on offer.

Since the new Market began at Easter, they have been incredibly popular with a wide range of stalls and entertainment

Visitors to Ely this Whitsun bank holiday can listen to tales of a Civil War soldier or chat to Mrs Cromwell’s servant to find out what her mistress has been up as the 17th Century returns to Ely

On Saturday 29 May from 2pm, the Oliver Cromwell House in Ely will be the place to be to see the Civil War period come alive with craft demonstrations, cookery lessons from the 1600s.
