Join our autumnal celebration of Ely Farmers’ Market’s 15 years

On Saturday 24 October, Ely Farmers’ Market will be continue its year-long celebration of  providing shoppers with some of the best local produce around over the last 15 years

Visitors to the Farmers’ Market are invited to visit the promotion stall with tasters and samples to try from producers on the market to allow shoppers to try before they buy.

Iconic tree set to be felled on Palace Green

East Cambridgeshire District Council is being forced to remove on a significant tree on Palace Green in Ely.

Over the last few years, the District Council has been monitoring the mature Sycamore tree beside the boundary wall of The Old Palace in Ely. In 2012, the tree was reduced in an attempt to retain it in a safe condition and see if the tree had the vigour to respond.

Making our City Centre work for us all

Over 60 traders, businesses, landlords and Councillors joined together last week to develop plans to ensure the centre of Ely can continue to thrive.

The City Centre Workshop, organised by East Cambridgeshire District Council, the Ely Traders Association and the City Centre Forum, discussed a number of ideas which had been generated by retail visits and research over the last year.
