How would you improve the place you live

East Cambridgeshire District Council wants to hear from people who live and work in towns and villages around the district about they could look and improve in the future.

A recent decision by the Government allows East Cambridgeshire District Council to review its Core Strategy to give communities a greater say in the future development of their area.

A key objective of the review will be to produce Visions for all key towns and villages in the district which have not yet been covered by Masterplans.

With the Government removing housing targets – local people, parish councils and organisations are getting anther chance to shape the place where they live.

The decision by the Government allows East Cambridgeshire District Council to review its Core Strategy to allow communities a greater say in the future development of the area where they live and work.

Eastern promise for Soham’s future

Residents are set to have their say on what they think of future development of the Eastern Gateway area of Soham. 

At an exhibition between 2pm and 8pm on Monday 6 December at the Walter Gidney Pavilion in Soham, local people can come along and see different options for the Gateway area and make comments.

The site, identified in the Soham Masterplan Vision and Core Strategy for future development, is currently 30 hectares of mainly farmland.
