Great Heritage weekend had by all

Ely was inundated with visitors this weekend as people from across the region came to learn about the amazing history of the city and see some of its hidden treasures.

A series of events at attractions in Ely organised by the Tourist Information Office at Oliver Cromwell House to form part of East Cambridgeshire’s contribution to the national Heritage Weekend Programme.

Flowers and bikes descend on the Market Place

This Sunday (30 June), visitors to Ely’s Market Place will find it full of flowers, art and bicycles.

Alongside the monthly Flower, Food and Craft Market – with its great selection of seasonal flowers and plants, artisan foods and unique crafts – a group of artists in East Cambridgeshire will be promoting the forthcoming Cambridge Open Studios scheme.

To coincide with the Love Architecture Festival, visitors to Ely this weekend can learn all about the amazing and historic buildings which make Ely so famous.

Two special guided events have been organised to celebrate the Festival which is organised by The Royal Institute of British Architects to champion better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture.
