Jingle along to the special Christmas card recycling banks

With the excitement building as Christmas nears East Cambridgeshire District Council and Ellgia Recycling have come together to help Ely Food bank.

Normally the authority encourages residents to put Christmas cards and envelopes in their blue wheelie bins, however for this Christmas special recycling bins will be located in Ely, Littleport and Witchford.

These bins will be in place from Monday 21 December to Friday 15 January and will be emptied by locally based Ellgia Recycling who will recycle the card and paper.

East Cambridgeshire District Council has ambitious plans for a new Local Authority Trading Company (LATC) and is seeking a forward thinking and dynamic leader to become the Company’s Chairman.

The LATC is a key part of the development of a more commercial approach at the Council as the authority looks at alternative ways of generating income to mitigate loss of Local Government funding from Westminster.

A spooky recycling opportunity for East Cambridgeshire

Residents in East Cambridgeshire no longer have to worry about leftover Halloween pumpkins creating a recycling horror story thanks to the District Council teaming up Ellgia Recycling.

Normally the authority encourages people to put food waste in their green wheelie bins, however for this Halloween special pumpkin recycling bins will be located at the Council offices on Nutholt Lane in Ely.
