East Cambs first to ratify devo deal

East Cambridgeshire District Council has agreed to ratify a devolution deal worth nearly one billion pounds for East Anglia.

Members of the Council voted to ratify the East Anglia Devolution Agreement at the Special Council Meeting on Wednesday 13th April. The proposed Deal was announced in the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s budget speech in March this year.

New insect and reptile farm proves East Cambs is ‘open for business’

A new insect and reptile farm is to be constructed in Mepal, having been unanimously agreed by East Cambridgeshire District Council’s Planning Committee.

The decision, which proves the District is very much ‘open for business,’ was made on Wednesday 3rd February. It has given Monkfield Nutrition Ltd planning permission to re-develop Arthur Rickwood Farm, formerly occupied by ADAS, who are an independent provider of environmental consultancy, rural development services and policy advice.

Notice of Election: District Ward – Bottisham

A notice of election is to be issued for the District Ward of Bottisham on Wednesday 30 January.

The by-election follows the resignation of Councillor Vince Campbell from the District Council who was elected in May this year.

If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 4 February 2016 between 7am and 10pm.
